Rain Halt Activities At Old Dominion Speedway
For the 6th time in 2003, rain postponed all activities at the Old Dominion
Speedway in Manassas, Va. Lingering showers throughout the afternoon caused track
officials to halt all activities. It took us 2 hours to dry the track, but
unfortunately, the rains came back and the track got soaked again. We had no other choice
but to call off the nights events, said track owner Steve Britt. Scheduled
activities included the Popeyes No Beef 200 lap feature for the NASCAR
Dodge Weekly Series Late Model Stock Cars. Also on the schedule was a 50 lap event for the
Redman Fleet Service Grand Stocks, a 30 lap feature for the Mini Stocks, and a 25 lap
feature for the Gaston Automotive Speedway Sportsman.
Next
Saturday night, the Old Dominion Speedway oval is closed, but racing action returns to the
oval on Saturday night, September 13. The schedule for that night is TBA at the time of
this release.
